10 Day Wilderness Expeditions
Our 10 Day wilderness Expeditions are exclusively for parents who want an affordable, shorter program that is intense enough to have a strong impact on your teen while accuretly assessing the difficult issues your son or daughter is grappling with. The 10-Day expedition is also designed to be a wake up call for clients that are struggling in other treatment settings.
With our five 10-day segments you have the option to enroll your teen for 10 days at a time. This gives them the chance to come home and practice the skills that they learn in the wildernss. If they continue to struggle at home then you have the option to send them back for another 10-day trip.
The Journey uses experiential learning activities to help boys and girls with difficult behavioral and mental health issues and to accelerate change. The elements that The Journey uses are a unique combination of treatment modalities that have proven to be extremely effective in the adolescent treatment field and have helped Journey clients over the last seven years tackle and overcome a variety of teen troubles.
The main elements are:- Evidence-based therapeutic treatment

While the teen is on the expedition, parents participate at home with The Journey Parenting Course which parallels thier youths learning and treatment. This proccess allows for productive family therapy sessions and healing of the whole family unit when the teen returns home.
The Journey is owner-operated by several partners who serve in a variety of capacities from program director to business manager and therapist. Dr. Liebing continues to serve as the Clinical Director for The Journey programs. The Journey has served over 1,000 youth in one or more of their programs.
